After his resurrection, Jesus asks Peter, “Do you love me more than these?” This is the question of the first commandment, “You shall have no other gods before me.” As we seek to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in training our wants, we are challenged with the fundamental question, do we want God more than the gifts God gives us?
