When Jesus teaches us to pray, he tells us to address our “Father in Heaven” so that we don’t think of God’s majesty as something earthly. We are also commanded not to worship God through images, but rather in Spirit and in Truth. Using the negative example of King Jeroboam, who set up golden calves on either end of the kingdom, we will look to the positive side of worshipping God in the truth of who he is.
