The eighth commandment prohibits not only theft but greed and the many ways greed bears bad fruit in our lives. If we submit our wants and desires to be transformed by the Holy Spirit, we are asking God to replace greed with care for our neighbor’s well-being. Our transformed desires will work to provide for our neighbor’s right alongside our own.
