Jeremiah 23 picks up the theme of the Good Shepherd by taking note of Israel’s bad shepherds who have scattered and destroyed the LORD’s flock. Seeing the state of leadership, the LORD promises that he himself will gather his scattered sheep. He will provide safety. He will give them a home. In uncertain times when we see many of our elected leaders not seeking the LORD’s justice and righteousness we can know that the Good Shepherd will gather his people to our home with him.
