The Good Shepherd and the Good Woman Sunday, May 26, 2024
Jesus picks up the theme of the Good Shepherd first in Luke 15. While the Pharisees and teachers of the law (first century Judah’s shepherds) complain about Jesus hanging around with sinners, he challenges them regarding their attitude toward lost sheep. Any shepherd worth his pay will search for lost sheep, pay the cost of carrying them home, and throw a party when the sheep is safely returned to the field.
