The Good Shepherd and the Bad Sheep Sunday, May 12, 2024
The prophet Ezekiel is in exile in Babylon with many of God’s people. In this difficult place he picks up many of the themes of the Good Shepherd from Jeremiah and from Psalm 23. Ezekiel’s prophecy adds a new element: The LORD, the good shepherd, will judge between good sheep and bad sheep, who not only eat and drink their fill, but keep others from enjoying the LORD’s provision. How do we fare when examined in this light?
