“I will lie down and sleep in peace.” This closing line of Psalm 4 speaks of one of the blessings of life that we often miss. Often worry, anxiety or anger can rob us of peaceful sleep. The writer of the Psalm begins his prayer with a cry to God, “Answer me when I call to you … give me relief from my distress.” How does he move from the distressed cry for relief to a peaceful sleep? We will seek to join him in this journey.
