“You cannot serve both God and money” (Matthew 6:24). Today we talk about the call God places on our lives when we profess our faith or when we are ordained to church office. Often, we limit the call of God to churchy things, but his expectation of our service applies to our entire lives. In Matthew 6 Jesus lays out a challenge that is relevant for us all – who or what will we serve? Will we serve God above all? Or will we above all serve our own wants and desires as they are represented by paychecks and money in the bank?
