The Path of Peace Sunday, December 3, 2023

Zechariah is one of the more interesting characters of the Christmas story. He is a priest visited by an angel and struck mute for his failure to believe the angel’s message. The song we are highlighting today is Zechariah’s song, his first recorded words after at least nine months of not speaking. This song speaks of the path of peace we will walk following the rising sun from heaven – Jesus. Zechariah’s unlikely son, John the Baptist, will be the prophet who goes before Jesus to smooth the path for him and all who will follow, including today’s Christians.
