Today we celebrate the arrival of the Christ child. He was given the name Jesus by God’s messenger angel before he was even conceived because that name tells who he is, the one who would save his people from their sins. Caesar Augustus can put the whole Roman Empire on the move with his decree that a census be taken, but the power to change eternity is found in the Bethlehem manger.
