“I am astonished.” After greeting the members of the Galatian churches with God’s grace and peace Paul’s tone changes quickly. He is shocked, and not in a good way. Those who had believed his teaching about Jesus have listened to other teachers who are changing the message so much it is no longer the same good news. Paul even calls down God’s curses on these other teachers. What could they teach that would draw forth such a tirade? What does this warn us against today?
